SUBMISSION FOR DBG ARTWORKS 2012

The Durban Botanic Gardens is happy to announce that, once again, it will host an outdoor art exhibition in the Gardens in 2011. Traditionally, the exhibition has been held over the same weekend as the Botanical Society Plant fair in September but this has had to be changed due to a large function with marquee taking place at the lake over that weekend.

The date for the next DBG Artworks will be November 27 from 09h00 to 16h00 because it falls at the same time as the international Climate Change Conference COP17. International visitors are expected to the Gardens over this period which is just before Christmas when art works make wonderful gifts.

While not making it a stipulation, the organisers suggest that if artists have any artwork which can in some way relate to Climate Change, they are invited to participate.

Site space will be limited so, artists keen to participate should contact the Friends of Durban Botanic Gardens urgently in order to book a space. The cost will be R50 per site (measuring approx. 5m x 5m). Allocation will be on a first come first served basis and will depend on the number of participants.

Once possible participants have been identified, they will be sent an application indicating banking details which will enable artists to lodge their fee direct into the Durban Botanic Gardens Trust bank account.
