Welcome to the Riley’s is the story of a couple coming to terms with the loss of their daughter through their unlikely relationship with Allison (Kristen Stewart), a teenage stripper.
Married for almost 30 years, Doug (James Gandolfini) and Lois Riley (Melissa Leo) rarely talk to each other anymore. They lost their 15 year-old daughter in a car accident years before and Lois has been guilt-ridden ever since. She rarely leaves their Indianapolis home while Doug ventures to a conference in New Orleans and decides to stay there, finding his house too depressing to live in.
Once there, he meets young Allison at a club, who says she’s 22 and a stripper, but he soon finds out she's a 16 year-old runaway. Reminding him of his late daughter, he starts to care for her, leaving his wife alone and helpless. But she’s determined to save their marriage and decides to climb into her car for the first time in eight years to track him down and bring him back home. But when she finds him staying at Allison’s apartment, is this the last straw for their marriage?
