CARN-EVIL TIME AT USHAKA

Celebrating things that go “boo” by the sea, uShaka Marine World together with Coca-Cola will trick and treat visitors to a thrilling Halloween Experience in October. This year’s theme is Carn-evil. The festivities will last the entire month culminating in three events.

On October 28, at 19h00, the Upper Deck will transform into a freakish party zone where under 18’s can whoop it up until the wee hours with You-Party jocks Royal K, DJ Justin Mentel and Sandro Borrelli.

Two magical dolphin shows – on October 29 and 30 at 15h00 – will provide plenty of wicked family fun. Tick-or-treaters can expect a welcome from a motley crew of “ghoulish” hosts. The wacky uShaka Pied Piper - played by the inimitable Bryan Hiles who is synonymous with the very best children’s theatre - will hand out goodie bags. He’s planning a merry dance through Village Walk where tenants will pounce on the Carn-evil parade and add more treats.

From there, it’s off to the Wreck Aquarium of the Phantom Ship where Halloween characters lead the way through a spooky maze of spider webs, bats, skeletons and scary characters. At the magical hour of 18h00, the uShaka Sea World dolphins add their bewitching touch to a show that stars Liesl Coppin as the wicked witch Mona, Georgina Mabbett as the somewhat ditzy good witch Melinda and veteran uShaka Halloween performer Rowan Bartlett as the large munchkin.

The show is written by Charon Williams-Ros and directed by the award-winning director / writer / actor Peter Court who has earned a special place in children’s hearts with appearances in a host of shows, cabarets and musicals through the years.

Included in the show is a fancy dress competition with prizes for the best and scariest outfits. Tickets R70 per teen to the Halloween party. Tickets R95 for the dolphin shows include a complimentary Coca-Cola as well as a half-price return ticket to Seaworld for your next visit! Children under three are free. Tickets are limited, so book well in advance at Computicket outlets or at the uShaka Marine World ticketing office. Or more information contact 031 328 8000.
