CELEBRATE DURBAN

September is the time to Celebrate Durban!

Throughout the Heritage month of September, the city of Durban comes alive in celebration of its cultural diversity through music, arts, dance, culture, sport, food and heritage. The events will serve to promote civic pride, social cohesion, unity and care for the environment, as well as encourage visitors from within and outside of the municipality to Durban.

Counsel General of India presents a Cultural Festival from September 2 to 4 which will be followed by Celebrating Durban Talent at the Durban Green Hub Festival on September 3. Then follows the Spirit of America and Africa Festival from September 6 to 9 at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi.

The Durban Bunny Chow Barometer and Durban Indian Ocean Festival take place over the weekend September 10 to 11 at the Blue Lagoon with the Celebrate Durban Halala eThekwini Comedy Festival takes place in the City Hall on September 10. East Coast Radio Durban Day on September 11 happens in the People’s Park at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

The following weekend, there will be a Classic Spiritual Traditional Music Concert at Emmanuel Cathedral on September 17 while the Durban Young Designers Fashion Show, Jewellery Extravaganza and Business Networking takes place on September 23 at the Durban City Hall.

Africa Meets Europe – Flavours of Durban Food and Beverage Fair runs from September 23 to 25 at the Durban Small Business Fair at the Durban Exhibition Centre.

On September 24, the Celebrate Durban/Halala eThekwini Street Parade in Anton Lembede Street (Smith Street). On the same day, there’s the Durban – Australia International Fashion Show at the Durban Exhibition Centre as well as the annual Miss eThekwini Pageant in the Durban City Hall.
