ON THE OFF BEAT

On the Off Beat with Karthiegasen Pillay is a public seminar series hosted by the UKZN’s School of Music this afternoon (September 15) at 16h00. All interested members of the university community are warmly invited to attend.

Leading artist in the field of Carnatic Music (South Indian Classical Music) in South Africa, Karthiegasen Pillay will present An introduction to Carnatic music. This will be followed by a Thabla Demonstration showing the two distinct systems of Indian Classical Music - Carnatic Music and Hindustani Classical Music.
