PLATFORM JAZZ AT WESTVILLE

Making a welcome return to the Westville Country Club on October 8 will be the fun jazz band Platform Jazz. This year they have a slightly different line-up of musicians including Cathy Peacock on trumpet, Ian Holloway on clarinet, Duncan Wooldridge on trombone, Jeff Judge on sax and vocals, Andreas Kappen on double bass, Slephane Pechoux on drums and the inimitable Melvin Peters on keyboards.

Some favourites to listen out for will be traditional Dixie numbers such as The Battle Hymn of the Republic, Alexander’s Ragtime Band and Sweet Georgia Brown, swing numbers include It don't mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing and How High the Moon. Jeff will entertain with the likes of All of me and Satin Doll to name a few. This group played to a sold-out audience with rave reviews at the Village of Happiness in July and most recently at the Hilton Festival a couple of weekends ago. Their brand of entertainment is toe-tapping and infectious and if jazz is your bag, don't miss this fun evening! Their performance at Westville last year was extremely popular.

Catch Platform Jazz at the Westville Country Club on October 8, the evening starts at 19h00 with music from 20h00 onwards. Tickets R100 and patrons are encouraged to bring their own picnic baskets but drinks may be purchased at the club. Booking is advisable as there is limited seating.
