SEX ACTUALLY GRAND FINALE

Durban’s internationally acclaimed Siwela Sonke Dance Theatre will perform in the Grand Finale of the Sex Actually programme at Wits Theatre on September 9 at 19h00.

I should have asked but I didn't is Siwela Sonke's latest work. It considers the act of asking and disclosure of all kinds. Dance and video probe both the necessity and the futility of secrets.

Suspended in moments of indecision and denial, in moments where lack of form to articulate or lack of a sense of one's right, questions are gently deferred. Postponed. Truth is held on pause. And the questions become submerged and calcified and ultimately irrelevant and dormant. Until one is on one's own again and then the questions come back with a relentless, unforgiving force.

Wits Theatre is situated on the corner of Jorrisen Street and Station Street, Braamfontein, Johannesburg. Entrance is free and tickets need to be collected before 19h00 at the information desk.
