THERE’S A FLY IN MY SOUP

(Mpukane “fly” Makhanya will host Durban Comedy Nights)

Durban Comedy Nights is a new concept of comedy sessions taking place monthly at the BAT Centre. The event is part of a refreshing list of events lined-up to revive the spirit of the ever-changing BAT Bar/Restaurant.

The venue now goes under a new title, The Uprising Restaurant” and the menu is back to the tasty standards of a professional African restaurant.

The Comedy Nights will be hosted by Mpukane “fly” Makhanya. The hilarious “fly” is a no stranger to the local comedy scene. By the early 90’s he was already a household name in Clermont (near Pinetown) and the surrounding Durban areas.

He entered the professional comedy stage in 2006 and has shared the stage with some of South Africa’s comedy giants such as Loyiso Gola, Trevor Noah and many more. He has previously landed acting roles in some of the leading SABC dramas, namely, Rhythm City and A Place Called Home and two commercial adverts.

“The comedy nights are for people who love going out and have fun!” exclaims Mpukane (*mpukane is a Zulu name for a fly).
