A TOUCH OF IRISH

Dave Monks

South Africa’s very own Irish minstrel, Dave Monks presents an evening of mirth, merriment and above all, sing-a-long Irish music at Stirling Theatre this weekend.

He has a proven repertoire of rousing Irish favourites and between songs, Dave delivers a touch of the blarney in his collection of Irish tales and jokes. Dave was born and raised in Dublin, which gives more than a touch of the authenticity to this Irish music and humour. The folky feel of the music is accentuated by Dave’s mastery of the fiddle, banjo and harmonica as well as the guitar.

Performances on September 2 and 3 at 20h00 and on September 4 at 15h00. For an extra R80 on Sunday, patrons can enjoy a three-course Italian Club Lunch before the show.

The Stirling Theatre is situated in the Italian Club (82 Fairway) along Fairway near the Beachwood Golf Course. Tickets R80pp. Take your own picnic or snacks but the venue offers The Italian Club’s optional a la carte menu for patrons wishing to eat, and a fully stocked bar at affordable club prices. There is plenty of secure parking.
