WHITE MOUNTAIN FESTIVAL

For three days of great live music in an idyllic setting, don’t miss the annual White Mountain Festival from September 29 to October 2, 2011.

Held at White Mountain Lodge near Giant’s Castle in the scenic Central Drakensberg, this gem of a festival offers acoustic performances by some of the country’s top artists. Already confirmed for this year are the likes of aKING, Guy Buttery, Dan Patlansky (unplugged), Allan John, The Wilderness Act and Josie Field, with more to come.

Other attractions include arts and crafts, assorted food stalls, a beer market, as well as outdoor activities for the whole family, ranging from abseiling, paintball and helicopter flips to fishing, boating, hiking and a zip line across a nearby 100m-wide gorge. Festival-goers can also make full use of the lodge’s facilities, including a restaurant, rustic 150-year-old pub, children’s playground, swimming pool and satellite TV.

KwaZulu-Natal’s only acoustic music festival, White Mountain is known for its relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere, plentiful amenities and beautiful surroundings. Situated less than 200km from Durban, 400km from Johannesburg and only 25km off the N3 on tarred roads, it makes for the ideal weekend getaway and also provides easy access to a number of nearby tourist attractions such as the Midlands Meander.

Tickets R500 on sale at Computicket which includes camping for the entire festival. For more information, visit www.whitemountain.co.za or contact Pedro on 031 563 0824.
