The Tatham Art Gallery is currently hosting a portrait exhibition, About Face 12 artists - 84 Portraits by artists from Durban and Pietermaritzburg.
As part of the exhibition, the artists and invited facilitators will conduct drawing workshops and walkabouts to members of the public. The first drawing workshop will be on October 7 from 10h00 to 16h00. Cost R120 pp. Bookings must be done before October 5 as space is limited.
The Garret Drawing Workshop will be conducted by Jeanette Gilks who will teach stimulating new drawing methods to adults in portrait workshop with a difference.
Participants to bring the following materials: Pencils of various grades (7H-7B), pencil crayons, fine liners, roller pens, graphite or charcoal powder, soft black pastels, charcoal pencils, conté sticks (black/white) pencil erasers, brick erasers etc. Lots of paper in A3 or A2 sizes-white/coloured. Your favourite drawing papers and not watercolour paper. Bring lunch and tea/coffee to share, or use the Gallery Coffee Shop
