DICHOTOMY 2

(Natalie Rungan)

Natalie Rungan will appear in Dichotomy 2, a sequel to her popular debut event last year, at the Alliance France on October 7.

Natalie’s early love of jazz was ignited by her American-born jazz vocal teacher Mitos Andaya. It opened a new world of music to the young singer who would never turn back from that moment on.

“Someone once said that my voice has the quality of burnt honey,” Natalie says. Honed by hours of tireless practice and superior knowledge of jazz, her smooth vocal styling saw her travel from Harare, Zimbabwe, to Boston, USA. In New York, Natalie jammed with greats like Larry Ridley, Brian Steele and Michael Rossi.

Natalie recently performed at the official Heritage Day concert at Moses Mabhida Stadium in a collaboration with Danny K, PJ Powers, Abigail Khubeka, Chomee and Theo. Her album Love Is…. has been nominated for best R&B Album in the 2010 Metro FM Awards. She’ll perform at Alliance Française of Durban with her band, featuring John Ellis.

The performance takes place on October 7 at 20h00. Tickets R100 (R50 members of Alliance Française of Durban).

Alliance Française de Durban is situated at 22 Sutton Crescent (off Windermere Road) in Morningside. More information on 031 312 9582, fax 031 312 2864 or email: durban@alliance.org.za
