(Geese by Jane Digby)Local artist, Jane Digby will exhibit her latest series of oil paintings at the Simbithi Country Club from October 14 to 16.
A resident of Simbithi, Jane has been inspired by the beautiful surrounds of Simbithi and the North Coast. Embraced by Light is an intuitive response to the environment, the play of light as it touches grasses, ripples in water and tips of wings. Space, atmosphere and light, these paintings are moments in time, captured by the artist’s eye and interpreted by layers of colour and brush work.
Jane exhibits regularly in South Africa as well as overseas. She runs regular workshops in oil painting from her tranquil studio in Simbithi. Simbithi was once the farm of Rosemary Ladlau, well-known floral artist and Past President of the World Flower Arrangers Association, who will open the exhibition on October 14 at 18h00.
Embraced by Light runs from October 14 at 18h00 to October 16 at 17h00. There will be an Artist’s Walkabout on October 15 and 16 at 12 noon. The Simbithi Country Club is situated at Shaka’s Rock Road, (exit of N2, no. 212), Ballito. Contact 032 946 5401.
