ROCK LEGENDS

The six-piece Classic Rock cover band, Cort Marshall, started out two years ago as a typical garage band, a couple of middle-aged guys messing about with their guitars in their spare time. It didn’t take long before they took a more serious approach and formally named the group. Their guitars and bass at the time happened to be manufactured by CORT. Deciding on “Cort” as part of their name, “Marshall”, a guitar amplifier brand name, became the obvious addition and Cort Marshall was born.

Rock Legends is a show devised and written by Steve Gavin which promises to take audiences back to the late 60’s and 70’s and features some of the great rock bands of that era . With music from Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Uriah Heep, Bad Company and many others audiences will be entertained with interesting and sometimes strange facts about these bands and the people involved.

Narrated by Springbok Radio’s Roger Service (Number 2 in the classic Men From The Ministry radio show) it is a show not to be missed!

The band members are ordinary people with day jobs, (from a school headmaster to a managing director and even a housewife) who play for the love of music. The all local cast includes Donovan Torr (guitar & vocals), Greg Brooks the headmaster of Umhlanga College (drums), Kevin Black (keyboards), Sherma Black (keyboards & vocals) and Peter Bosse (bass).

Rock Legends runs from November 4 to 12 at 20h00 and on November 13 at 15h00 at the Stirling Theatre, Durban North, Italian Club, 82 Fairway. Tickets R80.
