Friends of Music will present a programme by talented ensembles from within the ranks of the KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra on November 15.
Performing will be Elena Kerimova (violin); Geza Kayser (violin); David Snaith (viola); Boris Kerimov (cello); Ralitsa Todorova–Pechoux (cello); Simon Milliken (double bass); Ian Holloway (clarinet); Sorin Osorhean (horn), and Vessela Minkova (bassoon).
The programme will feature two works by Schubert: String Quintet in C, D. 956, Op. posth.163, and String Octet on F, D. 803, Op. posth. 166.
The Prelude Performer for the evening will be violinist Sarah Pudifin who will play Lalo’s Intermezzo from Symphonie Espagnol and Shostakovich’s Romance.
The recital will be held on November 15 at 19h45 at the Durban Jewish Centre, 44 Old Fort Road (K.E. Masinga Road), Durban. There is safe parking. Tickets R70 (R60 members and R20 orchestral members and students). Booking is at Computicket.
