Back by popular demand, The Blarney Brothers, Durban’s widely acclaimed Irish group, return to The Riverside Hotel for three festive season performances from December 21 to 23.

The legendary three-man group has been at the heart of South Africa’s music scene for four decades, livening up parties and gala events with their own special brand of music-making, including Irish ballads, catchy pub songs, popular ‘newies’ and even the occasional Irish jig.

Comprising three of South Africa’s best loved musicians, Paul and Damien McIlroy and Tony Fisher, The Blarney Brothers have toured internationally with great success, appearing in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Macau, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Australia and the UK.

“We’re happy to be back on our old stomping ground again this season and we look forward to renewing ties with old friends as well as meeting new ones,” says Blarney Brothers band leader, Paul McIlroy.

Performances take place on December on 21, 22 and 23. The Riverside Hotel is situated in Durban North. This year, the group will perform in the venue’s newly installed pool deck marquee, between 19h00 and 22h00. Tickets R80 (half-price for children under 12 years) available at the door. Doors open at 18h00, and meals and drinks can be enjoyed in the venue’s informal, relaxing ambience, while children are welcome to take a dip in the pool.

While scores of Blarney Brothers fans need no introduction to the popular group, new recruits to The Blarney Brothers’ unique brand of music-making can log onto their website at www.blarneybrothers.co.za for full details about their rich performance history, as well as the titles of their CD’s, and other information.
