An original musical theatre work adds a distinctive note to The Playhouse Company’s festive season line-up of live entertainment. As part of its festive season roster of live entertainment, The Playhouse Company will present the vibrant musical, Just For You, in the Loft Theatre from December 10 to 17. Written and directed by Thami Sikhosana, Just for You depicts the lives of those who left their homes and loved ones, and migrated to the city. Performed in English, the play depicts their struggle to survive tough urban living conditions, their relationships, deceptions, dreams and disappointments.
In keeping with the festive season’s spirit of hope and goodwill, the play ends on an upbeat note, with a final, life-changing stroke of luck that shows how friendship endures through bad and good times.
Actors appearing in this engaging work include S’busiso Shozi, Sandile Menze, Ndumiso Dlamini, Boy Ngema, Samukelisiwe Hlophe and director Sikhosana himself.
Their performances will receive high-powered live musical backing from Mduduzi Mahlobo on guitar, Elisa Sdumo Ngidi on bass guitar, saxophonist Sthembiso Ntuli, Lucky Thango on drums, with trumpeter Eric Duma and Lindelani Mathonsi on keyboards completing a crack line-up of musos.
Just For You performances take place on December 10 at 18h00; December 11 at 14h30, December 13 to 15 at 19h00 with a final performance on December 17 at 18h00.
