STEPPING IN TO THE REALITY

The KwaMashu School of Dance and Dusi Dance Company will present Stepping in to the Reality at Ekhaya Multi art Centre.

Stepping in to the Reality is choreographed and directed by Vusi Makanya. It explores unique African contemporary dance that consists of vibrant and energetic performers, showcasing their unique talent through various performances.

This end of the year concert for KwaMashu School of Dance Theatre and Dusi Dance Company will be performed by young dancers: senior and junior members of KMSDT, KwaSuka Saturday Dancers and Durban Charmers. Guest artists will be the Flatfoot project from KwaMashu and the Young Ones from Claremont.

KMSDT work features choreography by the company members and trainees and is directed by Vusi Makanya. Stepping in to the Reality is a fund-raising production for KMSDT to sustained it to operate in 2012.

Groups that are taking part and the works that they will perform are: Dusi Dance Company (Imagination Thought); KwaMashu School of Dance Theatre Senior and Junior (KwaMashu); KwaSuka Saturday (Talking walk version 2); Durban Charmers with local street dance fusing contemporary (Charmer Boy).

The Siyakhula Project Flatfoot Dance Development Project will be directed by Jabu Siphika while The Young Ones and Newlands Art Organization will be directed by Sifiso Kitsona Khumalo.

Live Music will be performed by Young Star Production, Gabriel MThokozisi Masango.

Performances take place on December 16 and 17 at 15h30 at the Ekhaya Multi Art Centre in KwaMashu. Tickets R30 (R10 students and scholars) available at the door an hour before the performance.
