Maxine MathewsFriends of Music will host a recital on January 10 featuring saxophonist Maxine Mathews with pianist Christopher Duigan who is a Steinway Artist and recognized as a “South African piano icon”.
All funds collected at this recital will benefit Maxine, who is going to study at the Paul McCartney’s School of Performing Arts in Liverpool. She was one of 55 from 1800 who were chosen for this programme.
Works to be performed include composers Liszt, Glinka, Guiness, Crepin, Piazzolla and Woods.
The concert will take place at 19h45 on January 10 at the Durban Jewish Centre, 44 Old Fort Road (K.E. Masinga Road) in Durban. Tickets R70 (R60 FOM members, R20 orchestral & student members) booked at Computicket. There is safe parking.
