WILLIAM COLLEGE CHOIR IN CONCERT

The William College Choir will perform in Emmanuel Cathedral on January 15.
Williams College, founded in 1793, has long been recognized as one of the finest liberal arts colleges in the United States. Located in the beautiful Berkshire mountains of northwestern Massachusetts (about 150 miles north of New York City), Williams draws students from throughout the US and from over 50 countries.

The Department of Music involves more than 250 students who participate in two choirs, three orchestras, a jazz band, a large wind ensemble, chamber music, an African percussion ensemble as well as music theory and history courses. Recent graduates of the Department of Music are successful singers, instrumentalists, conductors and music scholars. The Williams College Choirs comprise both students specializing in musical studies and those whose primary area of study ranges from physics, math and sciences to social sciences and the humanities.

This January, 32 choir members of the Williams Choirs will visit Durban and Cape Town to perform concerts and collaborate with choirs in these regions. In particular, they are dedicated to learning South African music from the extraordinary choirs at churches, hospitals, townships and universities

In Durban on January 14 from 14h00 until 16h00, the visiting choir will host a vocal clinic workshop and extend an invitation to all singers to attend. There is no entrance fee but reservation is very important so that the organisers know how many people to expect. Contact on 082 961 2165.

The William College Choir will perform in Emmanuel Cathedral on January 15 at 15h30 when the Parish choir will share the stage with the visiting choir. Entrance R20 and tickets available at the door an hour before the concert.
