(Mirijam Contzen)Friends of Music will feature a recital on February 14 featuring violinist Mirijam Contzen and pianist Bryan Wallick.
Mirijam Contzen is a German/Japanese violinist who completed her studies with the legendary violinist Tibor Varga. At the age of 16, she won first prize at the International Violin Competition Tibor Varga, which opened doors for her to the music world and, she has since then won numerous International prizes and performed with many orchestras around the world.
Bryan Wallick (USA/SA) is an acclaimed international pianist.
Their programme will include Mendelssohn-Bartholdy’s Violin Sonata in F major; Ravel’s Tzigane; Debussy’s Violin Sonata, L. 140, and Schumann’s Sonata – Violin & Piano Op. 121 No.2 in D minor.
Tickets R70 (R60 FOM members; R20 Orchestral / Students) booked through Computicket. Friends of Music concerts take place at 19h45 at the Durban Jewish Centre, 44 Old Fort Road, Durban. There is safe parking. FOM acknowledges the support of the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund.
