SAMA award winner, platinum selling musician and TV presenter Ed Jordan will be at the helm of the music and score composition of the hotly anticipated Leon Schuster film Mad Buddies, set for release on 22 June 2012 across South Africa.
The Always singer is renowned for his own solo albums, hit singles and many successful hosting gigs on shows like Deal Or No Deal, Popstars and I Wanna Be, but his score composition and song writing skills have featured in numerous commercials as well as the 2010 hit film Spud.
Having just released his first greatest hits compilation (The Best of Ed Jordan), the muso sees this as the next step in his creative evolution. “I am looking forward to working with Leon and Gray in what can only be described as an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. From what I have already seen, audiences are going to be aching with laughter from the very first scene!”
On the addition of Jordan as the Mad Buddies score composer, Leon Schuster adds, ‘It’s a real treat for all of us to have Ed on board. The collaborative nature of this film on all levels has me really excited in delivering a truly memorable experience for cinema-goers.’
Mad Buddies is the latest comedy from Leon Schuster and kicks off when sworn enemies, Boetie (Schuster) and Beast (Kenneth Nkosi), are forced to embark on a road trip as unwitting subjects of a new TV reality show, devised by a gorgeous TV Producer, Kelsey (Tanit Phoenix). On camera, with the whole of South Africa in on the joke, the pair comes unstuck at every stage of this hilarious journey until they discover that they have been conned and join forces to exact revenge.
Also starring long-time Schuster collaborator Alfred Ntombela, Mad Buddies is directed by Gray Hofmeyr and produced by Helena Spring. More information at www.facebook.com/MadBuddiesMovie
