KZNPO FREE CONCERTS

The KZN Philharmonic continues its season of family concerts aimed at introducing students, educators and the entire family to the orchestra’s symphony concerts. The Summer season kicks off on February 16 at the Durban City Hall and runs through to March 22.

The remaining two concerts take place at Hillcrest Primary on February 8 and Westville Boys High on February 9. These concerts carry no entry fee and last for just one hour – perfect for even the youngest members of the family. Doors open at 17h30, the concert starts promptly at 18h00.

The programme features highlights from the forthcoming season, including Mozart’s Symphony No. 25 recognisable from the film Amadeus, Berlioz’s extravagant Symphonie fantastique which takes listeners on a fascinating journey and Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 3 which is also referred to as the Scottish Symphony.
