In May, the Heritage Theatre is to stage Alive and Kicking, a musical tribute to the 80's "new wave" movement.
The producers will hold open auditions on April 21 between 12h30 and 14h30. They are looking for male singers/performers with live stage/performance experience and a vocal range that can handle the demanding songs penned in this amazing era of musical transformation.
Some of the songs featured in the show are:- Duran Duran's Hungry Like The Wolf, Depeche Mode – Just Can’t Get Enough, Ultravox – Dancing With Tears In My Eyes, Tears For Fears – Shout, David Bowie – Let’s Dance, The Police – Walking On The Moon, Madness – Our House, and Nick Kershaw – Wouldn’t It Be Good amongst others.
Prospective applicants should send a brief resume of their experience, vocal/theatrical training and/or other abilities to Heritage Theatre owner Gary McKenzie at garym@heritagetheatre.co.za by no later that 12 noon on April 20.
Applicants will screened be contacted should their resume contain what the producers are looking for. No first timers please. Only experienced performers need apply.
Alive And Kicking will run at Heritage Theatre in Hillcrest from May 15 to June 10.
