artSMart editor, Caroline Smart, will appear on ClassicFM on Easter Sunday (April 8) in an interview with well-known conductor and broadcast personality Richard Cock in his programme, People of Note.
The programme offers an engaging and interesting insight into the life of Caroline Smart who is an award-winning actress, director, scriptwriter, voice coach (for speech), arts journalist, producer of television arts programmes and online magazine editor.
She also offers her choice of music – mainly classical pieces which have made an impact on her during the course of her busy and multi-faceted life.
These range from the theme of Out of Africa (she was born in Kenya) and The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy from The Nutcracker ballet to an item from Messiah, operatic arias and a piece from Brutal Tunes which is one of the most successful shows she has directed.
Also featured will be Richard E Grant’s favourite classical piece – a reminder of the time when she appeared in his film directorial debut Wah Wah which was shot in Swaziland and featured major international stars such as Julie Walters, Gabriel Byrne, Miranda Richardson, Emily Watson and Celia Imrie.
Richard Cock has been presenting People of Note for about six years. He also presents The Full Works during the week from 20h30 and Performers A to Z on Saturday morning from 07h00 to 10h00.
Caroline Smart can be heard in People of Note on Easter Sunday from 18h00 to 21h00.
