(Brian Finch)
Brian Finch - Bringing Back the Good Times is something to look forward to at The Heritage Theatre which opens for a short season from May 9.
A true legend and one of the all-time greats of South African music, Brian comes back to his favourite watering hole in Durban, The Heritage Theatre in Hillcrest, for a five night run with a host of new songs and some exciting new musical additions to his live show.
This time around Brian is joined by Durban favourite and renowned singer-songwriter and guitarist John Ellis (of world renowned Tree 63), Ant Cawthorn-Blazeby on violin and long-time collaborator Dan Chiorboli on percussion.
Says Brian Finch: ''I can't wait to do the Heritage Theatre. Of all the venues I’ve played in around the world - this is my favourite. The atmosphere and its audiences are great ... I promise that these five nights are gonna be a blast''.
Says John Ellis: ''Brian is a legend and he's been one of my real heroes, who I've followed since I was a kid. This is the first time I've had the chance of playing live on stage with him, and I'm really looking forward to these concerts''.
Says Anton Cawthorn-Blazeby: “... really looking forward to playing in such esteemed company.”
Says Dan Chiorboli: ''Brian's the genuine article, he's lived what he sings about and is a great musician. Playing with him is always a memorable experience, and being in Brian's home town in front of his old surfing and jolling friends will be very special.”
Brian Finch’s run at The Heritage Theatre has Harley Davidson as a special partner, and Sunday’s show should prove to be a classic with a Harley “ride-in” and “Biker’s” theme which includes prizes for the best dressed couple. Jagermeister will also be involved – nuff said !
