May 22 at 19h30: Englishman Who Went Up a Hill, but Came Down (1995) Directed by Christopher Monger and starring Hugh Grant, Tara Fitzgerald and Colm Meaney. When an English cartographer must tell a Welsh village that their mountain is only a hill, the offended community sets out to change that.
May 27 at 19h30: Doubt (2009) Directed by John Patrick Shanley and starring Meryl Streep, Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Amy Adams. A battle of wills between two very different characters: the progressive, empathetic priest, Father Flynn, and the old-school, puritanical nun, Sister Aloysius. The trouble starts when a young nun spots a black boy looking distraught after meeting with Fr Flynn, and tells Sr Aloysius. The senior nun immediately accuses the priest of inappropriate behaviour.
May 28 at 19h30: Emma (1996) Directed by Douglas McGrath and starring Gwyneth Paltrow, Greta Scacchi and Jeremy Northam. A charming period drama based on Jane Austen's classic novel about an aristocratic young lady whose well-meaning match-making attempts often result in mismatches.
May 29 at 19h30: Wisegirls (2002) Directed by David Anspaugh and starring Melora Walters, Mira Sorvino and Mariah Carey. Story about three waitresses who work in a restaurant owned by the Mafia.
May 31 at 19h30: Music Box (1989) Directed by Costa-Gavras and starring Jessica Lange, Armin Mueller-Stahl, Fredric Forrest. A lawyer defends her father accused of war crimes, but there is more to the case than she suspects.
