The KZN Philharmonic Orchestra’s final concert of their current season will take place on June 21.
The evening concludes the World Symphony Series Winter Season and launches the French-South African Season. Audience members will be welcomed from 18h00 with French accordion, guitar and violin music: a fitting introduction to the all-French programme of Saint Saëns and Dukas. Acclaimed pianist François du Toit is the soloist, with conductor Daniel Boico on the podium.
The programme includes two works by Saint-Saëns - Danse macabre, Op. 40 and his Piano Concerto No. 2 in G minor, Op. 22 as well as Dukas’s Symphony in C major.
After the concert the audience is invited to join the KZNPO in front of City Hall as renowned Reunion Island singer Davy Sicard teams up with legendary South African guitarist Nibs van der Spuy. Send the Fire performed by Martin Sigamoney and his jazz band follow this collaboration and DJ Barnabé (France) will entertain until 01h00.
Complimentary drinks kick off the celebration and there will also be a cash bar and French delicacies on sale. Booking for the concert is at Computicket.
