Artisan Gallery is to present the work of two remarkable local artists, Ezequiel Mabote and Nicholas Jaji.
The exciting contemporary interpretation of traditional forms and designs made by Nicholas Jaji’s wire and seed-bead baskets, bowls and platters are unique and highly sought-after. Whether they take pride of place on a table, or as an eye-catching statement elsewhere in the home or office, these beautifully crafted pieces are classic.
Ezequiel Mabote’s brightly coloured woodblock prints are well-known to art lovers and collectors. He closely observes the landscapes and peoples of South Africa and captures them with a vitality and gentle humour in his richly textured works. Of special interest in this showcase are high city views of Durban, Cape Town and Johannesburg.
The exhibition opens on June 6 at 18h00 for 18h30. The Artisan Gallery is situated at 344 Florida Road, Morningside, Durban. More information from Ingrid on 031 312 4364 or email: info@artisan.co.za
