M-NET STARS

Movies with top casts scheduled for broadcast on M-Net Stars (Channel 105) include:

July 12: Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes (1984) directed by Hugh Hudson and starring Christopher Lambert, Andie MacDowell and Ralph Richardson. Tarzan, a lost child of an aristocratic British family, is found in the jungle by a team of explorers who find him living with the apes. He is sent back to England to be civilised and prepared for the mantle of heir apparent. Yet, despite his love for Lady Jane and a tender bond with his grandfather, he can't fight the thoughts that his home truly lies in the wilderness with apes who raised him.

July 13: Monster In Law (2005) directed by Robert Luketic. Starring Jennifer Lopez, Michael Vartan and Jane Fonda. After years of looking for Mr. Right, Charlotte 'Charlie' Cantilini finally finds the ultimate man of her dreams, Kevin Fields - only to discover that his mother, Viola, is the woman of her nightmares. A recently-fired news anchor who is afraid she will lose her son the way she has just lost her career, Viola determines to scare off her son's new fiancée by becoming the world's worst mother-in-law.

July 14: Best Friends (1982) directed by Norman Jewison. Starring Burt Reynolds, Goldie Hawn and Jessica Tandy. Two screenwriters who have lived together and worked together for years decide to escalate their relationship and marry. Soon into their marriage, they discover the great differences between being a married couple rather than best friends.

July 15: Meet Joe Black (1998) directed by Martin Brest. Starring Brad Pitt, Anthony Hopkins and Claire Forlani. The story of a media tycoon William Parrish, whose charmed life and orderly household are suddenly disrupted by the arrival of an enigmatic young man named Joe Black who suddenly insinuates his way into Parrish's life--both in his business and private affairs.

July 16: Chain Of Fools (2000) directed by Pontus Löwenhielm, Patrick von Krusenstjerna. Starring Steve Zahn, Salma Hayek and Jeff Goldblum. This wacky crime caper follows the exploits of a barber named Kresk, who unwittingly falls foul of the law after receiving some stolen ancient coins. Kolko, a private detective, is soon on his tail, but when she meets Kresk the two fall helplessly in love

July 17: The Mighty (1998) directed by Peter Chelsom. Starring Kieran Culkin, Elden Henson and Sharon Stone. Kevin, who has a progressive degenerative condition, is assigned as reading tutor to Max who is virtually illiterate. A friendship grows between the two boys who are both outsiders, based at first upon a joint venture into the imaginative world of Arthurian legend.

July 19: Black Beauty (1994) directed by Caroline Thompson. Starring Sean Bean, David Thewlis and Docs Keepin Time. Black Beauty is a stallion, now at rest in a field in the English countryside. Born to an idyllic life on a country estate, he is later sold to another aristocratic family but suffers a disfiguring accident with them. No longer wanted in their stables he is sold into a series of hard jobs in London until ragged and broken, he is found by his old stable boy and set out to pasture.
