Ster-Kinekor Theatres will soon screen the latest in Nollywood films at select cinemas. The first in the trilogy of Nollywood movies to be seen only at Ster-Kinekor is Inalé – a story told in a musical drama format. Releasing on July 27, Inalé is directed by Jeta Amata and is based on an age-old Idoma folktale about a beautiful princess, a suitor fighting for her hand and the test of true love, all in the midst of two warring communities trying to gain peace!
The film stars British-Nigerian actress Caroline Chikezie as Inalé and Hakeem Kae-Kazim as Odeh, her love interest. Chikezie is popularly known to audiences for her roles in TV productions such as Footballer’s Wives and films such as Aeon Flux, while the classically trained Kae-Kazim has played on stage in productions such as King Lear and has received acclaim in movies such as Hotel Rwanda.
Experience the trials and tribulations of two communities trying to maintain a peaceful co-existence. This story is a fictional expression of a traditional history that seeks to imitate the story of modern Nigeria with the challenges of communal tensions and conflicts. It is also a story that conceptualises the essence of true love, a love that has been told through the ages through the true beauty of songs.
Nollywood is Nigeria’s Hollywood and produces films that have become a world phenomenon, screening across the globe from the USA to South Africa.
Inalé can be seen at Ster-Kinekor Gateway. Bookings through www.sterkinekor.com; or www.sterkinekor.mobi or call Ticketline on 082 16789 or book at the box office.
