SIMPLY CHRYSOLITE CONCERT & DINNER

Simply Chrysolite, the group of local lasses who have become a worldwide gospel phenomenon, is being celebrated at a celebratory gala concert at the Elangeni Hotel on August 21.

The six young women escaped the social bondage of township life stricken with crime and poverty with the aid of the youth enablement project, an outreach headed by Tim Omotoso (Tim Omotoso Global Outreach).

Mabongi Shinga, Hlengiwe Nguse, Dolce Bophela, Phumzile Ngcobo, Thabiso Mkhize and Thabzo Mkhwanazi had all dropped out of school unable to further their education for various reasons. However through the help of (TOGO), the young women, who have no formal music training, were taught to compose their own music. Today they are known as Simply Chrysolite - a group that has risen from ‘zero to hero’; from grass to grace.
