The Durban Art Gallery hosts monthly Visual Art Clinic sessions every third Tuesday of each month. The aim is to provide mentorship, encourage creativity and enrich expression.
This is meant to afford an exchange platform for practising visual artists of all media. It is a space where artists can present their work - whether in-progress or finished - in an informal setting with a view to sparking critical reflection and constructive feedback.
Sessions are structured by two artists’ presentations, each artist showing up to 10 jpg images of their work, after which a panel consisting of curators and practicing artists help steer the dialogue as well as provide interactive critique and mentorship.
Those interested in discussing their work should contact Witty Nyide or Musa Mncwabe on 031 3112274/5 one month in advance.
The Visual Art Clinic sessions take place from 14h00 to 15h30 at the Durban Art Gallery, 2nd Floor City Hall, Anton Lembede (Smith) Street. Entrance is free.
