The world’s only pop culture channel E! Entertainment (DStv channel no. 124) gets a hot makeover this Sunday when a brand new logo, on-air look, and ‘Pop Of Culture’ tagline will be revealed.
The refreshed channel will offer its flagship, audience record breaking shows such as Keeping up with the Kardashians, Mrs Eastwood & Company, Fashion Police, and Live From the Red Carpet as well as brand new exclusive premieres.
Opening Act debuts on October 6 and sees the web’s most talented amateurs getting a shot at superstardom with Nigel Lythgoe as the host. With no judges, auditions or rounds, each act has only days to prepare after a surprise visit that presents them with an opportunity they never knew existed. Viewers follow their life-changing path from obscurity to the big-time gigs supporting the likes of Rod Stewart and Gym Class Heroes.
"There is an extraordinary amount of untapped talent out there,” says Executive Producer Nigel Lythgoe. “But if you don't know the right people or have the right connections, you may never be discovered. With Opening Act, we are democratizing a notoriously impossible process, pulling back the curtains on a consistently fascinating industry, and affording aspiring artists the chance of a lifetime.“
Married to Jonas premieres on October 28 and features Kevin Jonas, a member of the Grammy Award®-nominated and multi-chart topping group Jonas Brothers, and his wife Dani.
Dani, the sweet, stylish and down-to-earth girl from New Jersey, said "yes" and tied the knot with Kevin in 2009. The deeply-in-love young couple quickly entered a whole new world, balancing marriage, worldwide fame and coming of age. Together, they are working to manage the colliding points of view between Dani's outspoken Italian family and the Hollywood life of the Jonas clan, including Kevin's equally successful brothers Joe and Nick.
E! Entertainment together with DStv also offers South African fans an exclusive opportunity to win a trip for two to live the Hollywood dream for seven days in the home of pop culture – Hollywood. The competition runs on the DStv website (www.dstv.com/competitions/) from September 24.
