JAMIE: DRAG QUEEN AT 16

BBC Knowledge (channel 184 on DStv) will screen Jamie: Drag Queen at 16 on October 2 at 21h00.

This documentary series follows Jamie Campbell as he makes a bold step on his difficult journey to adulthood, battling prejudice from his community and even his own family as he pursues his dream of becoming a drag queen.

Growing up in an ex-mining village in County Durham, Jamie has already faced his fair share of difficulties when he came out as gay at the age of just 14. Now, with the support of most of his family and friends, Jamie has decided to share his passion with the world and attend his school prom dressed in drag.

With some frank and intimate family moments, Jamie: Drag Queen at 16 explores Jamie’s hopes and fears for the future. Will he receive the acceptance he craves from his peers and the confidence to be who he really is?
