Mwimbi Fine Art Gallery at Alliance Française de Durban will host an exhibition titled Interpretation by Kristin Hua.
In 2003, Hua Yang started her exploration
with a series of monotypes depicting characters and individuals from behind, in
head and shoulders portraits reminiscent of Identity document photos. Starting
with a desire to explore new material with traditional mastery, these works
have now come together to form a robust, balanced and considered body of work
where each piece functions independently as well as working within the larger
group to further discussions of “Interpretations” and points of views.
The exhibition opens on October 2 at 17h30
and entrance is free. It will run until October 24. There will be a walkabout
by Kristin Hua Yang on October 9.
