The Minister of Trade and Industry, in conjunction with his relevant Cabinet colleagues, has appointed five new Distributing Agency members to the Arts, Culture and National Heritage Distributing Agency.
They are Mr Mxolisi Zwane; Ms Gugu Ngcobo; Mr Nhlanhla Maake; Mr Bhekisenso Mgcina, and Mr Pheni Ngove.
Following the resignation of Dr Snowy Khoza as Chairperson of the Arts, Culture and National Heritage Distributing Agency, the Deputy Chairperson Ms Thoko Mkhwanazi has been appointed as the new Chairperson. Mr Willie Retsang, who served as a member of the Distributing Agency has been appointed as the new Deputy Chairperson. Ms Mkhwanazi and Mr Retsang have been members of the Distributing Agency since September 2011.
The role of the Distributing Agency members is to advise the Minister of Trade and Industry on policy for the distributing of funds as well as adjudicating on applications submitted for funding in the relevant sector. At the induction programme of the new members, the Chairperson of the National Lotteries Board, Prof Alfred Nevhutanda, welcomed the new members and assured them the full support of the NLB as they carry out their duties.
