The Sacred Drummers from Reunion Island
featuring N'Faly Kouyaté (Guinea) and Efrain Toro (Puerto Rico) will perform at
the Alliance Française de Durban on October 5.
The group caused a sensation when they last
performed in Durban at the Awesome Africa Festival, and now they are back as
part of Ray Phiri’s all-star entourage within the South Africa – France Season.
N’Faly Kouyate was a key member of Peter
Gabriel’s legendary Afro-Celt Sound System and his skill and elegance has
earned him the title of “the Jimi Hendrix of the Kora”. Efrain Toro is
recognized as one of the finest and most complete all round percussionists in
the world.
The Sacred Drummers will appear on October
