A FINE WAY WITH A STEINWAY

Enjoy an evening of music on a beautiful Steinway and Sons grand piano this Saturday with Christopher Duigan. Following a visit last week by accredited Steinway piano technician Ian Burgess- Simpson from Cape Town, the ‘Duigan’ Steinway Grand piano is now sounding better than ever!

Playing a selection from current programmes as well as some new and favourite music that shows off the best of this highly expressive instrument, the piano will be put through its paces in the best of a great selection of music. This includes highlights from the recent Esperanza programme featuring works by Brazilian Ernesto Nazareth, Mexican Manual Ponce and Argentinian Carlos Guastovino; from The Exotic World of French Piano Music, music by Ravel, Debussy (The Girl with the Flaxen Hair), the beguiling Les Barricades Mistérieuses by François Couperin, and the Ballade No 1 by Chopin. A highly appealing and varied programme that sets the tone for a wonderful night out!

The concert takes place at 35 Montgomery Drive, Athlone in Pietermaritzburg. Tickets R120 (R100 concert only) include refreshments on arrival, soup and coffee, served from 18h30. The concert starts later than normal – at 20h00 - to allow for plenty of time to enjoy the evening round a ‘friendly’ table with a light meal served with crusty breads. Remember to take your own wine if taking up this opportunity.

Booking essential on email: booking@musicrevival.co.za (preferred) or 033 342 3051. There is secure parking.
