Baroque 2000 presents its next concert on October
28 at its regular venue in Mariannhill, taking the composers of
Venice as its theme.
The beautiful acoustics at Mariannhill, like
those of the Venice churches of the day, are the ideal setting for this
glorious music. The programme will include Vivaldi's La Tempesta del Mare, (Storm at sea) a programmatic violin concerto
with soloist Ralitza Cherneva. Also presented will be the same composer's
Sinfonia in C and three works by Albinoni (famed for his Adagio): his Introduzione
Seconda, a Sonata, and a Sinfonia.
The concert takes place at 15h00 on October
28 at the Church of the Monastery, Mariannhill. Tickets R90 at the door, and there
