The
Rising Star Academy has opened registration for its 2013 performance programmes
which include:

Performing arts - A fun weekly class that covers various aspects of
performing arts. This includes speech development, confidence building
exercises, gross and fine motor development (for the younger students), stage
movement and performance technique (for the older students). During the year
all students will perform for the SA Speech and Drama festival and, where
applicable, in showcases and open days. These classes are available for Grades
00 - 12.

LAMDA Examination Classes

LAMDA Acting Class- A class for the serious and dedicated young
performer. During the year this will explore techniques and interpretation
skills required to perform pieces for the internationally acclaimed LAMDA
examinations. All exams are QCF rated and available for Grades 4 - 12.

LAMDA Musical Theatre Class - this class is for the student who wants to
learn more about the world of acting, singing and dancing. Students perform a
musical theatre piece for the LAMDA international examiner once a year. Exams
are QCF rated and aimed at Grades 4 – 12.
“The fantastic
news is that from 2013, we will have Shelley McLean, professional Durban
performer and Musical Director of the 2012 KickstArt production Beauty and the Beast assisting with
vocal development and musical direction,” says Gill Brunings, KZN Principal of
the Academy.
