GETTING FESTIVE AT THE BARNYARD

 (The cast in festive gear!)

To celebrate the end of 2012, The Barnyard Theatre at Gateway is showing off The Seven Wonders of the musical world by staging special festive season shows.

The Barnyard Theatre at Gateway’s Christmas Eve show has become a tradition with many families who choose to see in the big day in a festive, family-friendly environment. The show will entertain children of all ages, take grandparents on a trip down memory lane and impress out-of-town visitors. The Christmas Eve show tomorrow (December 24) will be a matinee. The theatre will open at 12h30 and the show will start at 14h00. Tickets R145 pp.

The Barnyard promises a festive send-off of 2012 and a roof-raising welcome of 2013. Once the show is over, the band get the chance to indulge in a real session, as they take you through the last 30 minutes of this year before doing the mandatory new year countdown. They’ll party with patrons into the first 20 minutes of 2013 after which Durban’s favourite event DJ, David Yapp, will keep the music pumping until the early hours. The theatre will open at 19h30 and the show will start at 21h00. Tickets R340 pp.

There will also be an additional matinee show of the current production, The Seven Wonders, on December 29. The theatre will open at 12h30 and the show will start at 14h00. Tickets R145 pp.

The Seven Wonders celebrates the music of seven of the greatest pop icons of all time - Elvis Presley, Bob Marley, Whitney Houston, Bryan Adams, Christina Aguilera, Chris de Burgh and Carlos Santana. Included in the show’s line-up of hits from these artists are Can’t Help Falling In Love, Heaven, I Will Always Love You, Jailhouse Rock, How Will I Know, Buffalo Soldier, I Wanna Dance With Somebody, Summer Of 69 and Redemption Song.
