(Leeandra
Reddy)
The makers of Buckled, Queens of Comedy and 150
years and still laughing! present another show with a distinctly Indian
flavour at the Playhouse over the festive season.
As the name suggests, Old
School is a nostalgic look
at the “glory days” .Through a collection of comedy sketches, it takes the
audience on a reminiscent journey, highlighting all the hilarious characters
that shaped or possibly misshaped our futures.
Past experiences inform future choices
and even though we become better and bigger at what we do, we lose so much on
the way to improvement. Old School
allows audiences to sit back and reflect on those lighter moments in life: a
time of simple pleasures, innocence and passive acceptance of the ridiculous.
Complete with quick costume changes and
nostalgic music, Old School features three
top acting talents who have taken the South African television industry by
storm: Meren Reddy (Gary in City Sesla),
Leeanda Reddy (Priya in Isidingo) and
Kaseran Pillay (Mr Bones 2).
Directed by Krijay Govender, Old School runs in the Playhouse Opera from December 21 to 23
and December 28 to 30. Booking is at Computicket.
