BAD MOON RISING AT BARNYARD

(Clint Cunningham)

The Barnyard Theatre at Gateway is staging two performances of the Creedence Clearwater Revival Tribute Show on January 24 and 25, after a sold-out show at the venue in 2012.

This highly entertaining show, performed by the acclaimed Clint & Co, has proven to be a great success at various prominent musical theatres across Southern Africa. Many venues have been brought to life by the party atmosphere and musical talents of these highly skilled musicians, due in part to their uncanny ability to sound like the original Creedence Clearwater Revival band.

The deep South roots and swamp-pop-rockabilly sounds are brilliantly captured as one is swept away by Bad Moon Rising, Proud Mary, Have You Ever Seen The Rain and many other old favourites.

The tribute band is headed up by Clint Cunningham, who is no stranger to South African audiences. After 15 years of “slogging the pubs and clubs all over South Africa”, Clint has more recently been enjoying great success with his various shows in top theatres, but his Creedence tribute is what he’s best known for.

With well over 550 shows under their belts, the band have performed at the Grahamstown Arts Festival, various Barnyard Theatres around the country, The Showcase Theatre North Riding, The Performer Theatre Pretoria, Richard Loring's Sound Stage, and many high profile corporate events, from the Sun City Superbowl to Monte Casino. The group has entertained patrons in Maputo, the Aardklop Music Festival in Potchefstroom, KKNK in Oudtshoorn, InniBos in Nelspruit and performed to over 3,500 people at the Celebration Centre in Harare, Zimbabwe.

Some 40 years after the original Creedence Clearwater Revival brought their unique brand of music to the world, Clint & Co are keeping the torch burning.
