Cattle are an integral part of traditional
Zulu culture and status in a community is measured by the condition and number
of livestock a family owns. Each animal is named and identified by its
markings, and those that are pure white or black are usually given up into the
care of the King, who is regarded as the true custodian of these rare beasts.
Now Durban-based production company, Dizzy
Dragonfly is set to educate youngsters about Nguni cattle in a new children’s
play, Inkonyane Engenegama (The Calf with No Name).
