Here's wishing a Happy New Year to all readers and supporters of artSMart.

Without you, the site could not exist nor would it have achieved the profile it has done over the past 13 years.

 The capacity of artSMart to offer arts organisations valued exposure on the internet is one of the main  reasons why artSMart's editor Caroline Smart was presented with the 2012 Ethekwini Municipality's Living Legend Awards for Arts & Culture.

Thanks to the reviewers who, on a voluntary basis, cover productions that Caroline Smart is not able to review herself.  Thanks also to Michael Green who reviews the KZNPO's symphony season concerts and contributes a regular Wine Notes column.

Thanks also to the newspapers who carry artSMart reviews, thus giving further exposure to arts events.

More importantly, thanks are due to the advertisers on artSMart - the National Arts Festival, the KZNPO, the Centre for Creative Arts and the Mercury Durban Theatre Awards. While Caroline Smart freely offers her time to load the site, the advertisers' support of artSMart covers the online costs.
