Phoneography
2, a group exhibition at artSPACEdurban of
smartphone camera images, has been extended until February 9.
Taking pictures with a smartphone (or a
cellphone that has a camera) has become so popular, it even has its own name:
iPhoneography, or smartphoneography for those who do not own an Apple mobile
phone. Users have been taking a lot of cool pix on their phones and now would
like others to see them besides on Instagram and other sites and have a chance
to sell them in a gallery environment.
artSPACEdurban coined the term
"phoneography" to open the field up to all cellphone with cameras
(aka Androids) users.
The blocks are either 12x12cm or 12x24cm
this year and there will be a prize for the most voted for piece on show of
R500.
artSPACE durban is situated at 3 Millar Road (off Umgeni Road) close to the Waste Centre.
