Coming up on the Sony Entertainment Television Movie channel is
Someone to Watch Over Me which will
be televised on January 23 at 20h00.
An early example of Ridley Scott’s directing genius, this
first-rate thriller directed by him in 1987 stars the first Mrs Tom Cruise,
Mimi Rogers (Austin Powers, Dumb and
Dumberer), as a wealthy socialite who witnesses a grisly mob murder. She is
assigned a working-class detective (Tom Berenger – The Big Chill, Major League) to protect her from the baddies.
Despite coming from different worlds, fireworks start to
crackle between the two as the murderers circle and gradually close in on them.
This is a stylish and passionate movie, further elevated by an intelligent
script.
