Hooked
on Books is an annual event. This junior and senior
primary school programme travels to primary schools around KwaZulu-Natal and
requires versatile and dedicated young actors. Good English is essential as the
programme, although entertaining, is also educational with the emphasis on
literacy and communication.
The organisation is looking for three
actors – male or female, the ratio is not important. Scripts will be supplied
at the audition and actors should prepare a song- acappella.
The production will run from April 8 to
June 21. Production rehearsals run from March 25 to April 6 and rehearsals are Monday
to Friday, with the second week including a final dress on Saturday, April 6. Fee:
Rehearsals R900 per week and performance R270 per show (average 8 to 10 shows per
week)
Auditions will take place on February 19 at
10 Kiahuna, corner Egret Place and Park Drive in Umhlanga Rocks. Artists must be
at the audition venue promptly at 10h00 with an updated CV and photo.
Callbacks will take place on February 20 at
10h00.
