EDGE OF GLORY

(Naledi Majola and Gemma Adey)

The major production for 2013 of Hilton's St Anne’s College is Edge of Glory, a musical revue of female pop icons showcasing the performance talent of the learners.

Featuring songs made famous by a wide range of female pop stars: from the notorious Lady Gaga, the outrageous Madonna and the dynamic Cher, to the golden era of Karen Carpenter and Annie Lennox, and not forgetting the present day bombshells Adele, Kelly Clarkson and Mylie Cyrus.

The production will be staged in ‘high-tech-pop-concert-style’ including big screens, two camera live video streaming, video footage, intelligent lights and special effects.

The Theatre-St Anne’s College will also be joining the global World day for Theatre for Children and Young People initiative by opening the first performance on March 11 to children under the age of 16 to attend free of charge.

Edge of Glory features a large cast of 65 girls and is directed by Lynn Chemaly with technical direction by Brian McFall, musical direction by Mark Stenhouse and choreography by Bonwa Mbontsi, Lynn Chemaly and Jon Branch.

The production runs from March 11 to 15 nightly at 19h30 at The Theatre-St Anne’s College in Hilton. Tickets R60 (R40 concessions). Children under 16, accompanied by an adult, attend free of charge on March 11. Booking on 033 343 6100.

St Anne’s College acknowledges the support of Big Beat Productions for sponsoring the sound rig for the production.
