The major production for 2013 of Hilton's St
Anne’s College is Edge of Glory, a musical revue of female pop icons showcasing the
performance talent of the learners.
Featuring
songs made famous by a wide range of female pop stars: from the notorious Lady
Gaga, the outrageous Madonna and the dynamic Cher, to the golden era of Karen
Carpenter and Annie Lennox, and not forgetting the present day bombshells
Adele, Kelly Clarkson and Mylie Cyrus.
The
production will be staged in ‘high-tech-pop-concert-style’ including big
screens, two camera live video streaming, video footage, intelligent lights and
special effects.
The
Theatre-St Anne’s College will also be joining the global World day for Theatre
for Children and Young People initiative by opening the first performance on March
11 to children under the age of 16 to attend free of charge.
Edge of Glory features a large cast of 65 girls and is
directed by Lynn Chemaly with technical direction by Brian McFall, musical
direction by Mark Stenhouse and choreography by Bonwa Mbontsi, Lynn Chemaly and
Jon Branch.
The production
runs from March 11 to 15 nightly at 19h30 at The Theatre-St Anne’s College in
Hilton. Tickets R60 (R40 concessions). Children under 16, accompanied by an
